Heath Andrew Ledger, was born on April 4, 1979, in Australia. He died tragically of a accidental drug overdose on January 22, 2008 in New York City. Heath made his acting debut in various television roles during the 1990s, he used this as a launchpad into a movie career, to become one of Hollywood’s top leading actors.

He starred in both critical and box-office successes, including 10 Things I Hate About You, The Patriot, Monster’s Ball, A Knight’s Tale, and Brokeback Mountain. For his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain, Ledger was nominated for a 2005 Oscar for “Best Actor in a Leading Role” and won awards from the British Academy and the Australian Film Institute, as well as two MTV Movie Awards. Just before his tragic death, he had recently completed his role as “The Joker” in the new upcoming Batman movie, The Dark Knight.

Prior to 2002, Ledger was linked romantically to actresses Lisa Zane and Heather Graham. From August 2002 to April 2004, Ledger had a relationship with actress Naomi Watts, whom he met during the filming of Ned Kelly. Ledger met and began dating actress Michelle Williams on the set of Brokeback Mountain, and their daughter, Matilda Rose, was born on October 28, 2005 in New York City.

Heath had Sun in energetic Aries, Moon in emotional Cancer, and Venus in romantic Pisces. His chart shows he was a sweet and sensitive spirit. Who seems to have suffered from depression and insecurity. He loved acting but hated the limelight. He had the soul of a true artist and was deeply gifted. Basically, he was drowning in his own sorrow and died of a broken heart.

As reported in a recent news headline, according to papers filed Feb. 29 in New York by lawyers for the Ledger family, the Oscar-nominated star was worth only $145,000 at the time of his Jan. 22 death. His father Kim had been named Executor of his estate and Ledger’s will had not been updated since the birth of his child.

Michelle Williams’ father has joined the controversy over Heath Ledger’s estate. “It’s real simple: just come clean with everything,” Williams told The Sunday Telegraph. “It’s so easy to resolve this. (Kim Ledger) just has to say where the income went and where the assets are. I’m certain that there is grieving in the Ledger family but (lawyers for) Kim have already filed papers in New York, so it seems like it’s time to be transparent about it.”

I expect the legal wrangling of his estate will continue to top gossip headlines over the next 12 to 18 months. The media debate will continue over how and why he died. His new movie, The Dark Knight, will be a smashing success. Over the next several years, I expect Ledger to reach cult status on the same level of James Dean and Marilyn Monroe.
